Orr, MN This beautiful Cinnamon colored Black Bear is eating small tree buds during early spring. The trees supply an oasis of food and safety for younger Bears. From the moment these Bears wake from hibernation, they begin a constant eating process that lasts all season. By late summer Black Bears will be fat from this consistent foraging, which will give them enough nutrients to hibernate once again when Winter arrives.
